From the gorgeous lakes of slovenia to the majestic desert oasis of peru, here's a list of 16 places that should definitely be added to your 2016 traVEL bucket list if they haven't been already!

MACEDONIA

Must See: Lake Ohrid. Welcome to lake paradise. The old Macedonian town of Ohrid will make you feel as though you've taken a vacation to the Mediterranean but for half the price. Grab a spot on a dock, lounge around the beaches, hike along the hills, or get lost wandering the cobblestone streets and ruins.

Colombia

Must See: Valle de Cocora. Get ready to step inside the set of Jurassic Park as you hike along the infamous wax palms and misty valleys. Located near the town of Salento, this is a great place to add to your itinerary especially if you're looking for an adventure.

sri lanka

Must See: Unawatuna. Covered in rugged forest, Buddhist ruins and remote golden beaches, this island is often overlooked for it's neighbours. Between it's rich culture and wide array of outdoor activities, no time will be enough time when visiting Sri Lanka.

Slovenia

Must See: Lake Bled. The ultimate hidden gem of Europe, Slovenia is a nature lover's dream. With so much to explore, Lake Bled is definitely the main attraction, but don't just stop there. Turquoise rivers, untouched trails and quaint traditional towns await!

Chile

Must See: Patagonia. The Chilean side of Patagonia provides some of the world's most picturesque landscapes you won't want to miss. Between the volcanic mountain town of Pucón, the marble caves of Lake General Carrera and the soaring mountains and glaciers in Torres del Paine National Park, you're guaranteed to have an unforgettable trip!

Uruguay

Must See: Punta del Este. A hot spot for summer holidays, Punta del Este is commonly referred to as the Hamptons of Buenos Aires. Once you've spent some time soaking up the sun, take a road trip along the coast as there's a lot more to explore!

Morocco

Must See: Chefchaouen. Definitely less hectic than Marrakech, Chefchaouen offers a completely new perspective to Morocco you won't get to experience anywhere else. This enchanting blue town will keep you in a trance as you turn every corner.

El Salvador

Must See: El Tunco. Have you ever been to a place where there's pretty much a beautiful sunset daily? Well look no further! The quiet little surf town of El Tunco is just 45 minutes from the capital of San Salvador. So grab your yoga mat or surfboard and get ready to dive into one of the most laid-back places in the world!

Greenland

Must See: Nuuk. Not your average holiday, Greenland is definitely up and coming. If you're looking for a place that's off the beaten path, you'll want to book a trip to this scenic capital for an extraordinary getaway.

Spain

Must See: Mallorca. While most travelers flock to Ibiza, don't forget to explore it's lovely neighbour, Mallorca. An island full of breathtaking beaches, make sure to stay on the southeast side to get a genuine feel for all the island has to offer.

Mozambique

Must See: Bazaruto Archipelago. Clear turquoise waters, mangrove covered coral islands, and pristine reefs make Mozambique's coastline one of Africa's most exotic beach destinations. A utopia for beach lovers, scuba divers and snorkelers alike, between the Bazaruto Archipelago in the south and the Quirimbas Islands in the north, you'll have a hard time deciding which part is your favourite.

Panama

Must See: San Blas Islands. An untouched and unspoiled collection of islands, home to the Kuna Yala tribe. Here, you can experience island life at it's best while also getting a taste for an authentic indigenous culture.

Samoa

Must See: To Sua Ocean Trench. Samoa is home to gorgeous reefs, lush rainforests and some of the most alluring landscapes in the world. One of those landscapes is an iconic swimming hole called To Sua Ocean Trench. Even if this isn't a part of your 2016 travel plan, it should definitely be added to your lifetime bucket list.

Peru

Must See: Huacachina. A flourishing green oasis in the midst of enormous white sand dunes, Huacachina is a great pitstop between Lima and Cusco. Grab a sand board or a dune buggy and enjoy the remarkable scenery of the desert.

Mexico

Must See: Laguna Bacalar. A road trip around the Yucatan Peninsula is a travel must. However, while the main sights may be cenotes or the popular party destination of Playa del Carmen, don't forget to make a pitstop at the exquisite Laguna Bacalar. The lake is so shallow, you can walk out to the middle of it!

Cuba

Must See: Havana. With the newly open borders for the US, there will definitely be an increase in tourism to Cuba. My advice: Get there before everyone else does!
