The 5 Best Beaches In Australia
/With hundreds of miles of vast gorgeous coastline outlining the entire continent of Australia, it's borderline impossible to select merely 5 beaches that are considered to be the best in the entire country. I won't even sit here pretending to have seen half of them, and I doubt anyone else has either unless you've been road tripping the coast for the last 12 years. However, if you're planning a trip to the eastern coast of Australia, here's a list of the top 5 beaches that will certainly not disappoint. Yes, 3 of them are in/near Byron...
1. Whites Beach
Just a short 20-minute drive south of Byron Bay, Whites Beach is a hidden gem offering up a more secluded type of beach experience. It was awarded one of Australia's best kept secrets, however, this may not be the case in a few years time, so check it out before everyone else does.
2. The Pass (Byron Bay)
Is a description even necessary after a photo like this? If you haven't paid a visit to The Pass during your trip to Australia then you're doing it all wrong.
3. Hyams Beach
Hyams Beach is your classic Caribbean dream and one of Jervis Bay's most gorgeous beaches. Fine white sand and flat crystal clear turquoise waters make this an ideal destination for swimming, snorkeling, or just unwinding and relaxing.
4. Killalea Beach (The Farm)
This spot is ALL TIME. Definitely devote a long weekend to camping around the area to properly take in the sun and surf, as this has been declared a national surfing reserve. Not only are there great waves, but there are some stellar bush walks with breathtaking views of the coast.
5. Wategos
This beach is the perfect place to set up a picnic and spend an entire day. More of a relaxed vibe than The Pass, Wategos has a great mini grass area made for catching some rays or taking an afternoon snooze. Not to mention, it's also a prime locale for people watching.
